| Notes for CLARENCE DEWITT CAMP: C. D. Camp was born in Camptown,PA. He was the youngest of 6 children. C. D. , his wife andson Burt moved to Geneva, NE from Jasper County, Iowa. He andhis two brothers set up a Grocery store there. He later set up aphotographic business and recorded the early times and people ofGeneva. They moved to Salida, Colorado, when son Otis took a jobthere with the railroad, but then moved on to Paonia, CO. Therethe family picked peaches in addition to photographic work. Theyeventually moved back to Salida to be near son, Otis. There ismuch written about C.D. running a photography business in Genevain "The Fillmore County Story" by Wilbur G. Gaffney, 1968,including some of his photographs. In the "Nebraska StateGazetteer Business Directory and Farmer List for 1890 and 1891",published by J.M. Wolf and Co. of Omaha, Ne, listed C.D. Camp asthe town photographer.
