Notes for ALBERT G. CAMP: The following is a quote from "Historyof Bradford County, Pennsylvania with Biographical Selections"by H.C. Bradsby, 1891: "The same year (1822) Isaac Camp built asawmill and house, whither he moved his family in 1825. AlbertCamp settled near his father..." Was listed in the Census of1840 as being in Herrick Township, Bradford Co., PA. In the1850 Census for Herrick Township, Bradford Co., PA, thefollowing was listed: Albert G. M 35 yrs FarmerBorn in PA Sara F 31 yrs Wife Born in PABurton M 15 yrs Farmer Born in PA ElizabethF 14 yrs Born in PA James M 13 yrsBorn in PA Clarissa F 7 yrs Born in PASilas M 5 yrs Born in PA Was listed inCensus of 1870 at Independence, Jasper Co., Iowa. Thefollowing is from the " Fillmore County Story" by Wilbur G.Gaffney: "The Camp family came from Jasper County, Iowa, in 1874and settled in Geneva. The family consisted of Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Camp, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Camp and son Earl, Mr. and Mrs.Silas Camp and daughter May, and Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Camp and sonBurt." Albert married a second time in Geneva, NE after thedeath of his first wife. In reviewing the second marriagerecords in the courthouse, he stated that he was 67 and from NewYork. His father was listed as Issac and his mother Martha Fay.The lady he married was Mrs. Martha Brown, 59, from Iowa. Whenshe died, she was buried with her former husband. When he died,he was buried beside his wife Sara in the Camp family plots inGeneva, NE. In researching the records at the Fillmore Co.Courthouse in Geneva, NE in May 1997, we found the names ofseveral of Albert's children that owned land. In addition, wefound two other Camps that owned land. We do not know if theyare relatives but wish to note the information so as to retainit for future cross reference: Camp, Hester A.
