Notes for JAMES THOMAS ST CLAIR, SR.: SERVICES MONDAY AT LIPAN,FOR J.T. ST. CLAIR, SR. Funeral services were held at Lipan,Monday for James Thomas St. Clair, Sr., 89, long-time resident of Morton and father of James St. Clair, Jr., of Morton. Mr.St. Clair, Sr. died early Sunday morning in a convalescent home at Amherst, Texas where he had been for about one month. He had been confined to his home in Morton for the past four years because of illness. Born December 19,1867, Mr. St. Clair married Katie Rogers in 1897. She died in 1906. Mr. St. Clair,until a month ago had made his home in Morton for the past 13years. A sister, Fannie St Clair has lived with him for the past 51 years - since the death of his wife. Survivors include,two daughters, Mrs. T. B. Dyer, Springlake and Mrs. John Stavenhagen, Tucumcari ,New Mexico and one son James of Morton;and the sister Fannie of Morton. Another son Irvin, who lived in Muleshoe died in 1950. Other survivors include 18 grand-children and 19 great-grand children. Friends from Morton attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nicewarner,Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Ledbetter and Mr. W. E. Angley. (Morton newspaper clipping |
