| Notes for GEORGE WILLSTON CAMP: George W. was born in 1834. Hespent his earlier years on the farm, at school and in the store.He was First Lieutenant in the 54th Regiment of the Penna.Infantry in the Civil War, serving from 27 Feb. 1862 to 10 Oct1864. He served under Grant and was in the Battle of PittsburghLanding. At the siege of Vicksburg, he was taken prisoner andheld for 10 months in prison. This took a toll on his health; hefaught several diseases and finally died in 1875. |
