Notes for ISAAC CAMP, JR.: Isaac fought in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Mattlocks 8th Conn Regiment. The following is a summary of two pay vouchers for sale on the internet: 1780 Pair of Revolutionary War Pay Vouchers Item # 1078962250Description This is a set of two documents affirming that the person signing was a soldier in the Continental Army and was entitled to the salary shown. The first is a large size Revolutionary War Voucher from the State of Connecticut dated in September 1780 which was issued to secure the payment due to Isaac Camp for his service in the Continental Army. The second is a certification from the soldier's home town select man affirming that the he was in fact a soldier. From June to December 1776, Isaac Camp served as a Private in the Fifth Battalion of General Wadsworth's Brigade that was raised to reinforce Washington's Army at New York. During this period,Camp fought at the Battle of Long Island and Retreat to New Yorkin August 1776. He was also a Private in the Eighth Regiment of the Connecticut Line from May 1777 to March 1780 during which time he fought at the Battle of German town in October 1777,wintered at Valley Forge with General Washington during the winter of 1777/78 and fought at the Battle of Monmouth in June1778.
