My Dad said that T. I. Came to Limestone county before he was 21 years old and that he could not read nor write until his wife taught him.
T. I. Camp is shown on the 1880 Limestone county census.

My grandfather T.I. Camp had a nephew named Sam Camp who lived in the Pleasant Grove Community of Limestone county, TX. If he is a nephew then he would be a son of T.I.'s brother.

Now I am making a search of Johnson County, TX. Searching for any Camp, St.Clair or Rogers.
The reason for this search is Elbert Camp:
J. W. St. Clair married Thomas Irvin's sister Martha and T.I. Camp's mother's maiden name was Pauline Rogers.

I believe this listed John W. St. Clair is the person who married Thomas Irvin's sister Martha Camp and this then is the couple who raised T.I. until he was supposed to have ran away somewhere at and age of 13 to 14 yrs. old.
Be it noted even thought there were no Camp's listed - T.I. 's parents were supposed to have died in 1863 when he was 3 years old according to my father B.C. Camp.
Note: Johnson county is very important in my search for T.I. Camp because he was raised in this county by his sister near Alvarado, TX
Dad said that T.I. visited a Mr. Rogers in Cleburne who was kin to his mother Pauline Rogers.
Martha Camp St. Clair who married a John St. Clair and she and her husband John lived on plantation in Arkansas and moved to either Hill county Tx or Johnson county TX. Mr. St. Clair
at one time maintained a family home in Cleburne, Johnson county because B.C. Camp said T. I. and wife visited them. My Grandfather, Thomas Irvin, came to lie with them when he was about 10 years old (1870)
